Passion Class

Passion Class

The passion class that I chose was coding/making games. I thought about a game that would be fun to code and I came up with a game called the chase. Its a game were your a cat and you have to run away from a dog, You are running from the dog because you stole the dogs food. The dog will stay on one space on the screen and you have to doge obstacle, and if you hit the obstacle you get closer to the dog. Next secession we are learning how to use gravity so once you jump you will fall back down.

Term 4 Week 1

Maths: in maths we did this new warm up activity called "quick 25" where someone has a list of 25 multiplication and division questions based on a number. the person with the sheet (me) will say the question and then wait 3 seconds and go onto the next one. after all the questions are done we mark them. this is fun and easy I think that the person saying it should swap not stay on the same person. I also did a decimal work sheet, It was fun and easy. Mr Gemmel is testing kids for there end of term report, He has already tested me and I finished the end question witch is year eight standard.

Passion classes: I like the idea of passion class, My passion class is coding and making video games. My game is going to be a game were your a cat and you steal the dogs meat and you have to run away from the dog, If the dog catches you have to restart and see if you can beat your record. I think that passion classes are a FANTASTIC idea and that they are really fun. I find we should do them more than just once a week.

Writing: In writing we had to do a camp moment, but I didn't go on camp so I writ a story about why I didn't go on camp.

Term 3 week 10

Mats : in maths we have been learning how to convert a decimals into percentages and use the percentages to make fractions. I find this easy but sometimes it can be hard to. I think it is a good challenge for me.

Reading : in reading we had to do 10 sentences about words to show that we know what they mean. This didn't take to long since I knew what the words meant. sometimes this can get a bit boring. So I find this easy.

Blogger : We have been told up lode so much blogs this week, I think I have uploaded 9 (concluding this one) It took awhile to get most of them done. Others were easy to finish. Other took a looooooooong time.

Term 3

My favorite part of term 3 was definitely production because it was SO fun. Maths was pretty fun as well. In math we did a lot of hard stuff like decimals and fractions and percentages. I found maths really fun and easy. I've learnt A LOT from all the subjects but maths is my favorite subject is ... MATHS.

Achievements : In week 8 we did our production witch I was REALLY nervous. But I thought I did great. I also came second at the Waipa gym sports. I love gymnastics so it was really fun. Me, Ella D
and Gracie were the only people to go for our school. I'm at list R which is really high up for year five.

In writing we have learnt how to use similes and meteors correctly. I like writing but sometimes it can get a bit tricky.

SPEECH

My Speech

I bet you like bees, but you’re scared of them stinging you. Did you know that no bees, and when I say no bees I mean absolutely no bees, would mean the end of world? And I know, it  sounds intense but it’s true. No bees equals no us! Did you know we would only survive 3 years without bees?
Well to help bees we need to feed them, bees eat bee balm, snapdragons, foxglove and hosta in the summer. Bees like to hang around some certain plants, such as black eyed, lavender, marjoram, stonecrop and goldenrod only to name a few. Bees favourite flowers to hang around is lavender and marjoram.  Now you know how to make a bee friendly garden.

Last week we were running around our garden and all of a sudden a bee came out of nowhere, and everyone ran off not because my brother was chasing them but because the bee was cashing them across the lawn, While i’m just standing there watching them run across the lawn, hopelessly waiting for the bee to stop chasing them. Eventually when my sister was to tired to run anymore, she stopped and then the bee flew around her for a while but then the bee flew away. So that goes to show if you bother the bee the bee will bother you.
Well bet you didn’t think this most of our food will be gone. For example almonds. All almonds won’t exist. California produces around about 2.1 billion pounds of almonds every year. This supplies 80% of the global demand for almonds. Almonds depend entirely on bees to pollinate the almond trees, it's that simple no bees no almonds. There are other foods like chocolate, coffee and apples.

What is killing bees? I’ll tell you it’s pollution, such as harmful gasses, dust and smoke which enters into the air. This air pollution is killing bees. Bees don’t see very well, and depend a great deal on their sense of smell to lead them flowers bursting with pollen. According to research bees are finding it intensely difficult to locate flowers due to high levels of air pollution that interferes with the flowers scent.

Well now you know how to take care of bees and what will happen without them. So remember we must remember to take care of these little creatures and that they are a giant part of the ecosystem. So now will you be scared if you hear a bee buzz by?

Rotations

Room 8: In room 8 we did music the song heathens, Were going to share the song for assembly. I like music and have always wanted to play the keyboard or piano, and this year I got to play the keyboard. I really wan't to be in a mini band now and wan't to be as good as Mr Gemmel.

Room 9: In room 9 we did gymnastics, and I know I've said in all my other blogs, But I LOVE gymnastics, I do composition gymnastics so I have to do Twisters. ( Twisters is the hardest level )

Room 10 : we had to make up a game to teach to the little kids. our game was like the game octopus it was called speed run.

Reflection Week 6 Term 3

Maths: in maths we did decimals and learnt how to use a algorithm to add decimals. I found this easy and fun, I didn't like decimals at the start, But now I find them fun and a good challenge for me. We had follow up question that we had to make up. I liked doing this because some people made there questions hard so that was a good challenge.

Production: well after morning tea we went to the hall to do production. I'm in the first dance (the class room scene) we have been going over the production constantly.

PRODUCTION

My Role : In the production I was a school kid, our scene was on in the first 10 minuets. After that I just had to wait 35 (ish) minuets till its finished.  This is a pic of me

I found the bit that we had to move the chairs the hardest. My favorite part is where we do the who let the dogs out, and the final song. I think it was fun... Next time i'll try out for a speaking part.

My Costume was simple, I needed a school t-shirt and black shorts/pants. I think we look cool. So overall I enjoyed it.
