Raglan

Tawa Team had a wonderful day trip to Raglan beach. Dylan and his group completed the beach relay and had a lot of fun. He used the key competency of Participating and Contributing by accepting responsibility as an individual and as a group member. He also demonstrated the competency of Relating to Others when he worked cooperatively with his group and was considerate of their thoughts and feelings.

Term 4 Inquiry - Technology

My animal is the Brown
Kiwi.
What does my animal need in its enclosure?
Twigs, Bark, a little bit of hay, a big log,
Some alive grass, some rocks.
What features did I add
just for my animal and how are they helpful?
Grass so my animal can hide, a log so the kiwi can look for
danger.
Did I make any changes and why did I decide to
do that?
I had to change the log in
a different way so the kiwi can look around and I took out some rocks.

Blue Penguins
The Blue Penguin is from the penguin family.
The Latin name for blue penguin is eudypula minor.
Habitat
Blue penguins bread underground in barrows
or natural holes, although they will make use of any man-made cavity.
Diet
Blue penguin feed on a variety of surface
schooling fish, squid and crustaceans.
Dynamics
They can waddle at one month old. They would
normally swim in the ocean.
Description
When they are a week old they are brown. When
they are a full adult they are a bluey-white colour.
Blue penguins are endangered. People can
make sure that they don’t destroy their species by not dumping rubbish on the
beaches that might be dangerous to them.
